Liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have attracted much attention in recent years for their environmental advantages. JMU responded to the advanced needs of liquefied gas carriers by pursuing safety, durability, and transportation economy.

The most important features of JMU’s LNG carriers are their high reliability and good volumetric efficiency. JMU is contributing to stable and economic energy transportation by actively grappling with the construction of the full range of LNG carriers, from small-scale ship for customers with port-related restrictions and medium-scale 75,000m3 class, so called “Mediterranean-max”, LNG ships to large-scale LNG ships. These large-scale ships take advantage of our proven record in the construction of high reliability SPB type LNG ships. As cargo containment systems, JMU possesses technology and know-how in connection with the SPB (Self Supporting Prismatic shape IMO Type B) cargo tank, which is a “pure Japanese” technology that was developed independently by JMU, and GTT Mark III (membrane) systems. Both systems are strong points of JMU.

LILY PROMENADE

We have a proven track record in the construction of 82,000㎥, 78,000㎥, 70,000㎥, 39,000㎥, and 18,000㎥ LPG carriers using our proprietary tank technologies. In all cases, these ships have won an excellent reputation with owners and users. We are particularly proud of this 83,000㎥ class LPG ship, which was developed based on a survey of customer needs and port conditions around the world, and responds to the advanced requirements of LPG transportation.
