The main role of the Marine Service Department which I belong to is coordination of ship repairs. Sufficient English ability is also necessary to converse with ship crews and overseas customers. This is a job that allows me to experience and grow on a global front. I look forward to you joining me.

Master’s in Mechanical Engineering,
Graduate School of
Science and Engineering
I joined IMC because I wanted to leverage the engineering knowledge I’d learnt as a student and work in a role that supported society. Currently I am involved in work relating to onshore hydraulic device maintenance in Japan and the scope of this work is not limited to progress management and recording of actual work, but a series of tasks from technical support for customers, order acquisition, procurement and payment collection. From my first year with IMC I had the opportunity to be involved in large-scale projects and was able to gain various knowledge and experiences from preparation and on-site work for these projects, which resulted in significant professional growth. In particular, I developed a high awareness of connections between people, both in Japan or abroad, and endeavor to do my best in my day-to-day responsibilities heeding my superior’s teaching of “People must value other people as people.”

Ayaka Saito
Parts Business Headquarters,
Sales Group 2
With IMC since 2017
Graduated Law Course,
Faculty of Law
After graduating, I began looking for work in which I could use English and be involved in trade. In the interview with IMC, I was able to express myself freely and I decided to join them because I felt they would offer a comfortable work environment. I initially worked in the Procurement Department then moved to my current role primarily in charge of parts sales to ship owners, ship companies and trading companies in the Greece region. There are many other female employees in my department and my direct superior is also a woman. We have regular face-to-face discussions and I am given opportunities to express my future intentions. My job involves a comprehensive scope from obtaining expressions of interest, part procurement, sale and dispatch, and payment collection. I use English to communicate with customers and I study English appropriate for business on a regular basis. Moreover, when dispatching parts overseas, there are different regulations and infrastructure conditions to consider depending on the country, therefore I also study the basics of trade, including custom house procedures, in order to avoid trouble. Leveraging my position in after-sales service for a major shipbuilding company, I hope to hone my skills so I can firmly satisfy our customers’ needs.
Active in the Field on a Global Scale as a Specialist Engineer

Yuki Eguchi
Hydraulic Machinery Service
Business Headquarters
Technical Service Division,
Ship Machinery Group
With IMC since 2017
Graduated Economics Course,
Faculty of Liberal Studies
I joined IMC because I wanted to be involved in the manufacturing domain in a position close to the frontline. Currently I take care of after-sales service for ship cranes, winches and other hydraulic machinery manufacturers, and exert efforts daily to address both Japanese and overseas customers in order to be an engineer with sales ability. I majored in literature at university so at first I was anxious about whether I could handle highly specialized work relating to marine vessels and hydraulics. However, I was blessed with OJT in the field, specialized training and the surefire support of my senior engineers which gave me the confidence to go about my daily tasks. If you are like me and “are curious but anxious…” please do rise to the challenge and join us.
